The Houston Astros have agreed to a two-year, $17.5 million contract with reliever Ryan Pressly, according to a source.

The agreement will buy out two years of free agency for Pressly. The right-hander was acquired from the Minnesota Twins in July for a pair of prospects.

There is an option to buy out Pressly's deal for a third free-agent year on top of that, according to the report.

The Houston Astros have agreed to a six-year, $100 million contract extension with Alex Bregman, according to a source.

Bregman wouldn't have been eligible for free agency until after the 2022 season. The new deal kicks in this year, so it buys out his first two years of free agency as well as his arbitration years.

The Astros drafted Bregman with the second overall pick in 2015. He finished fifth in MVP voting last season.

The Tampa Bay Rays have agreed to a six-year, $24 million contract extension with utility man Brandon Lowe, according to a source.

The deal includes a pair of club options and could keep Lowe, 24, with the Rays through his 32nd birthday.

Lowe still qualifies as a rookie after having just 129 at-bats in 43 games last season.

The New York Yankees have agreed to a contract with Gio Gonzalez.

It's a minor league deal, but if Gonzalez is added to the Major League roster the deal will be worth $3 million for the season, plus incentives, according to a source.

The deal allows Gonzalez to opt out April 20 if he hasn't been added to the Major League roster.

"It gives him an opportunity to come to camp and compete in front of us and others," Brian Cashman said.

The Kansas City Royals and Martin Maldonado have agreed upon on a one-year, $2.5 million deal.

Maldonado will serve as a replacement for Salvador Perez, who underwent Tommy John surgery earlier this week and will miss the entire 2019 season.

Maldonado could make another $1.4 million in incentives, according to sources.

The Toronto Blue Jays have agreed to a contract with Clay Buchholz, according to multiple reports.

Buchholz signed with the Arizona Diamondbacks in May and became one of the team's best pitchers. He went 7-2 with a 2.01 ERA in 16 starts.
